The Story Behind the Designs
From a single Repulse Bay project to transforming how people think about bathroom spaces
The Beginning
Victoria’s journey into luxury spa design started unexpectedly in 2010. She received a commission to redesign a 2,000 sq ft bathroom in a Repulse Bay mansion—a project that would reshape her entire career. What was meant to be a one-off renovation became something much bigger. Word spread through Hong Kong’s elite circles about her ability to transform ordinary bathrooms into sophisticated wellness sanctuaries. Suddenly, she wasn’t just a designer—she was becoming the go-to person for spa conversions.
Education & Early Training
She studied interior design at the Hong Kong Design Institute, where she developed a strong foundation in spatial planning and material selection. But that wasn’t quite enough. In 2007, she spent two formative years in Barcelona studying European spa design philosophy—learning how temperature, humidity, light, and acoustics all work together to create genuine relaxation. Those years abroad completely changed how she approached design. When she returned to Hong Kong in 2009, she brought back a more holistic understanding of what makes a space feel truly restorative.
Building the Reputation
Her breakthrough moment came when a major property developer engaged her to create spa-style bathrooms across their luxury residential portfolio. That contract led to recognition from Design Asia magazine and features in Architectural Digest Asia. But Victoria didn’t let the accolades change her approach. She’s always believed that luxury spa bathrooms should evoke genuine relaxation, not just look expensive. She’s particularly passionate about sustainable materials and water-efficient systems—because real luxury means you don’t have to choose between beauty and responsibility.
Today & Tomorrow
At Serenity Bay Limited, Victoria directs the spa conversion workshop program and mentors emerging designers. She’s led over 120 bathroom spa conversion projects, including notable installations in Repulse Bay, Deep Water Bay, and Stanley. But here’s what drives her now: she’s committed to democratizing high-end spa design. Through workshops and articles, she’s teaching homeowners and designers how to create their own tranquil retreats regardless of budget constraints. Because she believes everyone deserves access to spaces that help them relax and recharge.
